Deal with the wolf first, especially since the creature is capable of taking down your teammates and inflicting massive injuries. It seems like you won't last long until the rebellion though. Make sure that both characters are using good weapons and armor before heading into the caves. And since the player is human, might as well go with the familiar race to get the baseline for the setting on the first playthrough.
It really depends on the player tbh. There are several traps in the caves and you can consider disarming them if you're playing as a rogue. If you ignored Bhelen's warning you'll discover dead bodies of Trian and dwarven guards upon your arrival in the cavern. Once they're gone you may begin attacking Trian. Having a personal vendetta against Howe nets you that personal satisfaction when you do kill him as the Human Noble much the same way picking Orzammar's ruler or dealing with the Dalish matter to their respective origins.
That's a relief—wouldn't want to widow the entire village. I played Human Noble as my introduction to the series and something that ruined it for me was how the Couslands didn't look at all related to my Warden. I think the City Elf is the best intro. I enjoy it a lot personally, but it's not for everyone at all. Pay more attention to genlocks, because they'll be travelling in packs and some of them will be using bows. Half an hour later: DEATH TO ALL HOWES RARW! Before you attack the leader make sure to eliminate all the archers. Thankfully you won't be travelling alone, because Gorim will accompany you in this journey. Once it's safe you'll have to start moving back to a large cavern where Frandlin has joined your team (M19, 2). After you've left the dungeon go to [Denerim - Market district - Gnawed noble tavern] and talk to Bann Sighard (M65, 13). Solve a simple riddle by ordering your three team members to stand on movable floor pieces. They provide details about aspects of the setting that you'd be more likely to be interested in after you've already become invested in the story and setting. Head back to [Orzammar - Ruined thaig] (M19, 8). Once this is done use the fourth team member to open the sarcophagus (M19, 7). You are not permitted to copy any image, text or info from this page. He'll be very pleased with what you did and aside from getting his vote you can also ask him for a reward (up to 50 gold coins depending on your persuasion skills). And as much as I love the Magi origin I will admit to being profoundly confused a lot of the time during my first go-around of the game. 1. I can see your point, but it probably depends on the player. Description: You can meet Oswyn while trying to complete one of the main quests of the game - Saving the queen. A community of Dragon Age fans, noobs, and ogres. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. When I replayed as a noble I had to headcanon my Cousland was the result of some affair and came up a whole extra background story (that somehow still didn't conflict with the actual story). I personally think a first time player, regardless of whether or not they've played previous entries in the series or has knowledge concerning the DA lore, is best served by picking an origin that intrigues them most. In order to move on with the mission you'll have to be moving south-east until you enter a larger cave protected by a group of genlocks. Plus I played a fighter this time which was an easier class to learn. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. Keep pushing forward until you come across a friendly scout (M19, 3). I used to like the Dwarf Noble origin more but I've soured on what was done with Dwarves in this game. 2. Post Comment. I, however, disagree with your opinion. You could make a case that a player really should start with the Elf Mage, the City Elf, or the Dwarf Commoner to get perspective on the injustices of the setting but I think keeping it simple till the player already has affection for the setting is better. You could always run away when he sleeps and tries to find a dalish clan. My first start was City Elf and it's still something of a headcanon for mei found that there is a lot of room in it for character building and that it has different outcomes and such and you could walk away a cruel ass or a shuned kid or somethingAlways did a rouge too, dunno why. Don't get me wrong, I think Cousland has a great plot over the course of the game, but it's a very common plot to see in fantasy stories compared to the player being put in the front seat of a brutal underdog narrative like Tabris's. You're entitled to your opinion, especially when it comes to something as subjective as entertainment media. City elf has a pretty solid hook for actually getting into a situation that requires you to go with Duncan, without the incredibly skeezy blackmail. Personally I'm always partial to the City Elf origin because you get to start the game out murdering a Human noble and then telling the King about it which is hilarious. He can be found in one of the larger rooms of the dungeon located directly beneath Howe's estate (M74, 3). It shouldn't take long until you come across a passageway with a lot of dead bodies (M19, 4). Again. I think it's a great start for a new player, but the later part of the City Elf origin can be deeply uncomfortable for some players, especially female players. It was the hook that DA had that got me in to the whole world. So if not playing as a Caucaisn character is important, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're okay with modding the game to hell on your first go around or making up elaborate adoption headcanons. Luckily my first playthrough was as a mage so I initially didn't have this problem. The other origins are better for subsequent playthroughs to get other perspectives on the world. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
I personally prefer the Dalish origin because I'm an elf lover and the thought of Tamlen guided me through my first playthrough with a fiery hatred of Darkspawn and the taint. When I returned I played the Human Noble Origin. Doing this will allow you to get your hands on the Aeducan shield. Received from: King Endrin [Orzammar - Ruined thaig] Description: Once you've ended your conversation with Bhelen you'll find yourself standing in [Orzammar - Ruined thaig] (M19, 1). It's just a lot of lore to sit through for first-timers.
