Anyone who lived through the 80's will recognize just how the whole 'This is England' production through to '90 captured this era perfectly. Shane Meadows has directed some fine films over the past twenty years or so, but his most celebrated and widely seen effort, 'This Is England' remains his most powerful and genuinely realistic. It does very good to show the Skin Culture in a movie (the director was a Skin in his youth and it's pretty autobiographical). There's a problem loading this menu at the moment. It is a great coming of age tale, a great Skin movie, it also examines how hatred can spread through manipulative people and how through reason good will rise in the end.
