I loved that this movie was true to both. This moment is one in which a young Christopher Robin (Orton O'Brien) comes to the Hundred Acre Wood for the last time. It's a film that will mostly make you long for a more traditional Pooh tale. An engrossing film for the children we were. A gently sweet film which, without realising its early melancholic promise, aims a little higher than the bear necessities required of a Disney merchandising cash cow.
I watched this wondering if it was going to be a dull, forgettable period piece or a tedious biopic and was very surprised just how good it actually was.This is a really solid film with good performances and nicely directed.
