The room was nicely laid out with quality fixture and fittings. Server was also fantastic.I would love to return and try the restaurant and a la carte menu but I cannot recommend this restaurant for their kitchen table option... For the price (just shy of £400 for two) you'd expect a superior and amazing experience. I left feeling not pleasantly satiated, but completely stuffed because of all the food set forth before me. The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of Skye with so much to discover and enjoy. Fabulous drinks. Our room at the House Over-by was spacious, smartly decorated and well appointed. The wine list is good, but is rather expensive if you want to drink as well as you can eat, though the Rolly Gassman 2005 Gewurtz was very good, if a little sweet (which I like) for an Alsace basic. Well worth the trip, but the food is not quite up to the standards of big city establishments. In July 2013, I had one of the best meals of my life at The Three Chimneys (which, in my opinion, would confit the Fat Duck). Let me say that the Three Chimneys and House Over-by exceeded all my expectations. The presentation and service certainly meet the standards of fine dining, and the food almost gets there. I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to write this review for the Three Chimneys. Cosy, candle-lit, and romantic, The Three Chimneys has won numerous awards and is well-known worldwide for high quality island produce and friendly yet professional service. I also preferred the shortbread and tablet to the listed soufle dessert.As this was a special occasion, spending the $$$$ was justified and we were sad to leave almost 5 hours later.
